External Memory Storage - Possible States of Matter

“All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.”*

Since the invention of the camera, the possibilities for documentation and information storage have radically changed our relation to the past and our memory. But nothing is static, nothing is solid. Everything is constructions, yet we want to freeze time, save and archive.

I am interested in transience, state changes and possible states of matter. Themes I work with are different aspects of memory, perception and materiality in relation to technology, science, and time. In this project I have recorded and aestheticized chemical reactions and physics phenomena and present the footage in a sculptural installation.

External Memory Storage - Possible States of Matter

“All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.”*
